Pumpkin Guts Sensory Play

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

#CakeSmash Preparation!

Over the weekend, we carved a pumpkin and saved the insides for a Halloween themed #SensoryActivity! At first, Noah wasn't sure how he felt about the squishy, slimy texture. Check out that eyebrow raise! I just love his GUTS!

*I've linked our favorite Pumpkin Carving Kit from Amazon, here. The kit comes with stainless steel carving tools, stencils, and LED lights for inside your Jack-o-Lanterns!

Having your little one play with pumpkin guts is also a great way to prep them for their first birthday #CakeSmash!

An idea if you have older kiddos, would be to hide plastic spiders, green grapes (aka "zombie eyeballs"), gummy worms or Q-tips (aka "skeleton bones") in the pumpkin guts and ask them to dig them out!

If you decide to try this Sensory Activity, I'd love to hear about your experience! Please leave a comment below or tag me, @slayathomemama, in your post on Instagram.
