*Bing Crosby Voice* It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas!
Kick-off the Christmas season by making these sweet-smelling ornaments with your little one! They also double as adorable, holiday gift tags!
What You Will Need:
*I’ve linked our Amazon favorites below!
Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine Applesauce, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Elmer’s Glue. (We used Mott’s Cinnamon Applesauce!)
Step 2: Stir until dough is formed.
Step 3: Knead the dough with your hands and form into a ball. Little helpers welcome!
Step 4: On a smooth, flat surface, using your rolling pin, flatten your dough ball into a disc shape; approximately 1/4 inch thick.
Step 5: Have your little helper cut out shapes using the cookie cutter. Repeat Steps 3 - 5 until all dough is used.
Step 6: Using a toothpick, gently poke a small hole near the top of their heads.
Step 7: Lay gingerbread men cut-outs on parchment paper to dry. *The air drying process can take up to 48 hours.
Step 7: Once completely dry, thread festive twine through the hole to hang.
My favorite ornaments are the ones where I can see Noah’s tiny thumbprints or that are slightly cracked; perfectly imperfect!
While your ornaments are drying, I recommend cozying up this Scratch & Sniff Storybook from Amazon! Unique Stocking Stuffer Idea too!
